You Feel Good, but Are You Well?

Massaging is one way to a healthier life - Let The Light Centre be your guide!

When you consider developing a healthier lifestyle what do you mean? Is it exercising to build muscle mass or trim fat? Do you only consider your nutrition? Your alcohol intake? Making regular/annual visits to your doctor? Is it getting your nails and hair done? What do you really think about?

At least if you’re thinking about one of the above, that’s a start! However, have you stopped to consider more preventative measures when staying healthy.

How do you ensure that your muscles, organs and tissues are getting enough blood to be fed adequately and that built up waste is removed?

What about relaxing those muscles that are being taxed when you do go to the gym, because they are left taut and subject to damage?

What do you do to alleviate the negative effects of daily stress which, as we all know, is the cause for many a chronic issue?

Well, one way to do that is through MASSAGE. Who knew? Yes, you knew, but you may consider massage only as a relaxing birthday present, a Valentine’s day treat for you and bae, or something you do on vacation!

I’m here to tell you, it’s not just a once a year indulgence.

We at The Light Centre want to encourage a wholistic approach to health and can offer Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Lymphatic massages, Reflexology, and many other types of body work.

Massage, and I’m talking basic Swedish/Holistic/Relaxation Massage, not the fancy stuff, has been around since the 1800s as a non-invasive medical technique and “involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on the topmost layers of muscles” (WebMD.com, 2019). The benefits of massage are vast and far-reaching, and involves “a smooth, gentle, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, relieves muscular tension, plus improves circulation and range of movement” (PhysioWorks.com, n.d.). Doesn’t that sound perfect?

So, give us a call and let The Light Centre help you ‘unplug’ for an hour (or more). The gentle kneading of muscles will help diminish aches and pains that you acquire through everyday activities, like sitting in traffic or behind a desk, walking in heels, or lifting heavy objects.

We treat each client as an individual and cater our treatments to suit YOU!

Think about the benefits of feeling good rather than being uncomfortable.

Spend on ease, not disease!!

Your heart rate and blood pressure will decrease, and your breathing will calm. As massage moves your blood through muscle manipulation your blood circulation will hasten the removal of waste in the body, including the waste created by exercise.

Relaxation is not the only benefit of massage, as you see!

Some studies (MayoClinic.org, 2019) have found massage may also be helpful for:

Relaxation is a lifestyle perk that seems evasive but we all want and need it! You may think you can’t get in on that action due to price but consider this - putting $$$ into your health can greatly decrease the need to give $$$ to the doctor when you are ill.

I know you’ve made those New Year’s 2020 resolutions, to work out, eat better, and be healthy. Let The Light Centre help you get there. We can help with a doable diet, and can ensure your body will remain working well throughout the year. Remember - washing the car doesn’t mean it’s 100%; you need good oil, injectors that are clean and tune ups to get rid of waste created from doing its job.

Do the same for yourself!!
